This is the current water level of Lake Lillinonah. Our safety indicator should be used as a guideline only; higher lake elevations cause more floating debris. Always use caution and watch out for floating debris when navigating Lake Lillinonah.

Safest: below 194'
Debris presence unlikely - safe for recreational use.

Caution: 194' to 195'
Debris possibly present - caution advised.

Use Extreme Caution: above 195'
Debris likely present - dangerous.

Zebra mussels were discovered on the GLEON buoy on Monday, October 8, 2012
Zebra mussels were discovered on the GLEON buoy during the winter removal this past week. A dozen or so were sent to Dr. Edwin M. Wong, Associate Professor of Molecular Biology, Dept. of Biological & Environmental Sciences, at Western Connecticut State University for study. Brian Woods of FirstLight Power has reported finding them also. Please check your boats and docks when you take them out for the winter, and send us an email (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) with any findings. Also, please note that you may see "a couple of guys poking along the shoreline in dry suits and chest waders... fighting the good fight!", checking for zebra mussels. Please report sightings of debris on Lake Lillinonah by using the following email address: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) This includes debris floating in the lake, and debris resting on the shoreline. Describe the location and a brief description of the debris as accurately as possible.
