Friends of the Lake received email communciation from Betsey Wingfield, Bureau Chief, Bureau of Water Protection and Land Reuse, CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, announcing that the United States Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a meeting on June 12, 2012 at the New Milford High School from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM to provide preliminary information on potential approaches to addressing PCB contamination in the Housatonic River. The public is welcome to attend to provide comment or ask questions.
The EPA report, “Potential Remediation Approaches to the GE-Pittsfield-Housatonic River Site “Rest of River” PCB contamination, which discusses potential approaches to addressing PCB contamination, is available on the EPA website: http://www.epa.gov/region1/ge/ .
