Shoreline Management Plan Public Forum on June 27th

Public Forum Scheduled for June 27 Northeast Generation Services (NGS) will host a Public Forum on June 27, 2006 from 7-9 pm at the New Milford High School to review proposed changes to the Shoreline Management Plan and solicit additional public comment. NGS will present changes to the programs and policies that have been made as a result of the public process to date. The High School is located on Route 7 south of New Milford. Status of SMP NGS has compiled comments received to date on the draft SMP and is preparing a summary of proposed changes that will be available for public review and comment in the next two weeks. The document will be posted on the project website: ( http://www.essexpartnership.com/hrp.asp ) Framework for Agreement NGS is continuing to work with Chief Elected Officials around Candlewood Lake on a set of principles that can serve as a foundation for future shoreline management. NGS is also working with stakeholder representatives on refinements to specific SMP programs and procedures. Outreach Activities In addition to the June 27 Public Forum, NGS and The Essex Partnership will be reaching out to various community associations in the coming weeks to answer questions and provide information on the SMP.
