FirstLight Power Resources announces 2011 Annual Lake Drawdown

Posted: October 19, 2011

The following information was provided by Mr. Richard T. Laudenat of FirstLight Power resources:

Beginning on November 5, 2011, FirstLight Power Resources (“FirstLight”), the owner and operator of the Shepaug Hydroelectric Project, is lowering the reservoir water level of Lake Lillinonah approximately 7 feet from CL&P Elevation 197.0, its normal minimum pond elevation to 190.0 feet for regular annual maintenance. Lakefront Home Owners must have permits from both FirstLight and possibly their Municipality prior to performing shoreline work on waterfront property. The water level is expected to begin to return to its normal elevation on November 13, 2011.  Please note that this schedule may change at any time based on weather conditions and FirstLight’s need to generate electricity at the time of the drawdown.  Newspaper ads will appear in Waterbury Republican- American, Danbury News Times, and Housatonic Journal.
